Gestalt Letters
Proximity
For the design of proximity I decide to use the letter V.I used the letter V because it was a easy way to created a shape which was a rhombus/diamond. Before I wanted to create a squares that demonstrated proximity but there wasn't any letters that had straight forward stoke or serif also the font was Garamond and it has serif for mostly each letter which is hard to design with. This lead to me to use V. As to how I showed proximity, I put each rhombus/diamond close together to make it look as if they were in a group or cluster.
Similarity
In the similarity design I use the letters b, d and q. I decide to use these letters in my design because they each look similar each other. B and d are somewhat the same if you flip them horizontally while the you can flip it vertically it can look like the letter b or d. As to how I design them I decide to created them as if they were snowflakes each with a different size and shape but closely resembling each other. Similarity out the five was the easiest Gestalt principle to create.
Closure
Closure is when an object is incomplete or a space is not completely enclosed. But your eyes For the design of closure I used the letters I to create a rectangle with each of the serifs beings connected only showing the ending of the serifs. I have done this with the letter I since it a straight stroke making it easier to create something that close
Continuity
For the design of continuity I used the letters M, E and J.I used the letters M and E because they were big letters that fit the box's size. I also rotated them to make it bigger and much more noticeable to show continuity. As for the J since it tall it made it easy to put the J in the M and E to show the line or curve continuity thorough the M and E. I could have also rotated the J to the left or right to show continuity.
Figure and Ground was the hardest principle to design with letters. You had to use positive and negative space to create the design. For the design I used the letters C,O and the number zero. To create the negative space I used 3 O with each of them get smaller by 25.This created a thick look for the O.I then decide to add he zero in the middle creating the small curve in the O. I then added the C to each side of the O to create a positive space inside of the O thus creating the figure and ground design.
